Our Story
Meghan and Shawn met at the most romantic place on earth, behind a cheese counter. Our love for good food and eventually, each other, led them on adventures all over the USA and Europe. We learned shepherding in the French Pyrenees and harvested olives in Tuscany. After a 6 month working honeymoon abroad, we helped to establish Mountain Lodge Farm in Eatonville, WA. There Shawn managed the farm and Meghan made goat and mixed milk cheeses of all categories - luscious fresh chevre, French-style bloomy rinds, washed-rinds and raw-milk tommes.
Meghan next made cheese and butter at Cherry Valley Dairy in Duvall, WA. Here she made award-winning soft-ripened cheese and fromage blanc, along with exceptional cultured butter.
Meghan now makes cheese and butter part-time at Bellsong Creamery in Snohomish while raising her girls and helping Shawn tend the flock.
Shawn is a trained architect and woodworker who mostly makes sheep shelters now. He does design work for a design/build firm when not chasing our kids or sheep around the pasture. Shawn has done much of the pasture management and improvement.
We purchased our small farm in Sedro Woolley in 2018 and slowly brought on our flock of Clun Forest sheep with a few East Fresians. Two beautiful human babies came next and made our family farm complete. Now we are growing our flock and building our farmstead creamery, bit by bit.
